It's nice to see that National Assembly Representative Lee Gun-hyeon's crime statistics showing that foreign English teachers have a low crime rate have made the Korea Herald. Now if only similar articles were to be published in Korean...

There are actually other National Assembly Representatives besides Lee Gun-hyeon and Choi Young-hee who have said misguided things about foreign English teachers over the years, with Kim Han-gil standing out for things he said in 1997, such as in a Kookmin Ilbo column titled 'Nude Models and White Men' where he said that there were 40,000 to 80,000 'unqualified white teachers' in Korea, and that they needed 'AIDS and drug tests' to protect children. It seems he was ahead of his time, but I'll save a closer look at his articles for another day.

wow! why don't you also publish it in Korean? it would be helpful for koreans to have more objective views on foreign english teachers.
