Some interesting history reading for today:

Over at the Marmot's Hole, Robert Neff posts a fascinating article from 1958 which looks at the upcoming covering of Cheonggyecheon and laments the loss of the past. In the Korea Times, Michael Breen writes about the 'forgotten' second republic which existed in between the overthrow of Syngman Rhee in April 1960 and Park Chung-hee's 5.16 coup in 1961.
