The true origin of pizza

This is probably the best pizza commercial ever:

More videos related to this can be found here (and more commentary is here). There are lots of comments at youtube written by Koreans who clearly 'get it,' but there are also some from those who obviously don't understand that it's satire. Having recently read Hyung-il Pai's 'Constructing "Korean" Origins,' the bit about the archeological evidence made me laugh (as she argues that the use of archeology in Korean historiography has at times involved putting square pegs into round holes). At any rate, kudos to Mr. Pizza - it would be nice to see more like this.

It's great to see at least SOMEBODY in Korea is willing to take an objective look and have a little fun at their own expense. Thanks for sharing this.

Whoever did this is quite savvy about what goes on the Interwebs, including how it pokes fun at the great Chinese people. I love how the first guy condescendingly refers to Korea as "those other people."

I can't help but wonder how "Pawi" over at TMH or "Tom" at ROK Drop will respond to this.

Every time I start to lose an argument I'm just going to say "We are original Pizza!"

Shakespeare is better in the original German.

That is the best. I'm in tears! And Shakespeare is even BETTER in the original Klingon.

And the "CEO" isn't the CEO. He's the "CLO" (Chief Love Officer).
