I took these from a plane New Years 2002. When you take off from Toronto on the morning of December 31st and arrive at Incheon on the afternoon of January 1st, it's hard to tell when the new year actually begins...
If I remember correctly the first photo was taken on the east coast just north of Pohang and the others proceed inland from there.
I'm sure I have more from the flight home the next year as well. I hope everyone is enjoying the new year so far...
something I dont get is why Korea doesn't look green with trees on a satellite image (looks like brown that's been weathered down), whereas Japan is uniformly rich green.
ReplyDeleteI'd imagine it's because the images are taken in the late fall or winter, when there's little foliage and a better view of what lies beneath the trees. Of the two Google Maps satellite images I've seen of the Banghwa-dong area, one was taken in January or February, and the latest was taken in November. Some of the satellite maps I've seen of Korea have been green, but not many.
