Almost a year ago I blogged about Bae Doona being signed up to play "cloned human Sonmi-450 in a dystopian Seoul in 2144" in the film adaptation of David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas. An extended trailer was just released a few days ago.
That's a pretty epic trailer. More about the film can be found here, including the author's positive take on the script.
I was half-way interested in seeing this film before I saw a disfigured-looking Tom Hanks and Susan Sarandan with her out-there world/political views featured at length in the trailer. Now, I have absolutely no desire to see it.
And for those expecting an "Inception"-like hit, you might want to think about what having no Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and, most importantly, no Christopher Nolan might mean to those odds.
