Recently, SHINee Key also retorted at a fan asking him to say something in English, telling them to learn Korean instead... this was praised by the media and his Korean fans although it really seemed uncalled for. There are many instances where Korean fans comment in productions of other popular culture, asking celebrities to speak in Korean as well. If an American or European celebrity were to say, why dont you go and learn English instead? Surely many will call such a celeb racist.
